The Technology Building at the NT University consisted of a three-storey structure separated into three structures and connected with a three-storey colonnade.
The project was significantly redesigned after award to achieve an approximate 10% saving to meet the project budget. Whilst the building footprint remained the same every other element of the project was re examined and where possible changed to reduce the cost whilst still meeting the functional brief.
This required extensive ongoing redesign work which was carried out whilst construction proceeded. Sitzler worked very closely with Peddle Thorp and the NT University to ensure that the budget was met and the project completed in time for the 1st semester of 1996.
The building was completed within budget and in time for students to move in for the first semester 1996. The standard of finish is high, consistent with other projects undertaken by this company.
Sitzler continue to impress with their capable and effective management of the construction process, in particular their co-ordination of subcontract work.
