C50 Marksmanship Training Range Robertson Barracks

Sitzler - Project - C50 Marksmanship Training Range Robertson Barracks
project details
Location:
Darwin, Northern Territory
Client:
Department of Defence
Contract Value:
$1.6M
Completion Date:
February 1996
Referees:
Mike Palmer, Connell Wagner Savant

The project consisted of extending the Marksmanship Training Range from five lanes to 15 lanes together with the construction of a new ZERO Range.

The project required extensive civil works and detailed setout in the wet season with wet weather extensions of time only amounting to 27 days.

The client extended the scope of works to include sealing of range access roads, replacement of existing power mains cables and significantly changed the range firing shelters to reflect the altered brief of the user group.

The additional works were completed within the contract period to the complete satisfaction of the user group.

Defence have stated that to have a new range pass a safety board inspection first time with so little comment or corrective work is rare and offer their congratulations on a job well done.
