Initially the project consisted of refurbishment of the Function Room, High Stakes Gaming areas and 32 Hotel accommodation rooms over 13 weeks with minimal design. Six weeks was required for design to be at a stage for construction to commence. The clients requirements changed dramatically and over the seven week construction period, in excess of eight million dollars was expended and an extremely high standard of finish was achieved, allowing the opening prior to Christmas 1995.

The success of the construction teams quality, timeliness and co-operation resulted in the Casino Refurbishment being extended to include the remaining 65 Hotel accommodation rooms, Keno, Pokies, Ground Floor Gaming Room, Restaurant, Cocktail Bar, Retail link, increasing the contract value to $20M, with finalisation complete early May 1996.

The extent of work being carried out in such a short time prior to Christmas meant labour had to be sourced from southern cities including tilers from Adelaide, plasterboard fixers from Melbourne and carpenters from Brisbane. One hundred and sixty five site personnel were required to complete this section of work, with materials sourced from Italy, Belgium, France, Japan, U.S.A. and all capital cities in Australia. With expenditure in excess of $1.0M per week for a seven weeks
period material procurement took a high priority.
