Woolworths Shopping Centre, Nightcliff consists of a 4075m2 supermarket and 2583m2 of specialty shops with an external sub-station of 65m2 to PAWA requirements. Sitzler undertook the design and construction of this project, which was completed on time and within budget.

Innovative design solutions incorporated in this project included post tensioned precast concrete columns to reduce the overall depth of columns thus reducing the impact of the structure on the trading area of the supermarket, and the use of precast external walling to delete the requirement for external scaffolding thus speeding up external services works around the building.

The mall consists of terrazzo paved floors, high quality shopfronts and significant open space area in front of the supermarket to enhance the open air feel of the centre. Convenient easy access has been provided for the shopping centre with 219 conveniently spaced carparks. External construction of the complex has been designed to ensure that long term maintenance is minimised whilst maintaining a pleasant visual aspect.

This project also included the construction of a roundabout and an entrance for large trucks off a major arterial road.

A major variation of a warehouse and two extra specialty shops were constructed as part of the major contract after the complex was opened.
