This project involved the mechanical plant upgrade to Building 33 at the Northern Territory University Casuarina campus to comply with Work Health standards.

The work scope of the project included the upgrade of the building works, upgrade of existing building air conditioning system and connection to the NTU chilled water main. Associated general building works to facilitate the installation of the new mechanical systems were also included.

Time restrictions impacted on the project with work required to be completed prior to the university year commencing. Other issues that needed to be addressed by the project team included:

  • items of furniture and equipment would need to be left in place;
  • crane access; and
  • potential wet season delay.

The project was completed on schedule and within budget, accomplished through open dialogue and a professional approach demonstrated by the Sitzler project team.
