In the second quarter of 2002 Sitzler were commissioned to manage the construction of the Tiwi Aged Care Facility. The facility accommodates 50 beds along with support areas required such as kitchen, wet areas, multi-purpose rooms, sun rooms, lounges, dining areas, hairdressing room, staff rooms, and administration.
The management process included the involvement in the completion of the design process and cost control working closely with the Client and architect via a tri-partite agreement. The design was completed mid-year and the tendering process completed by July of the same year.
The construction of the facility required the timely coordination of all services including nurse call and security systems. The Client required that a homely feel be provided to the residents and this was achieved through the use of a vast range of colours and material types.
This is a great achievement of which all Darwin people should be proud. This building showcases tropical design and building excellence.
