project details
Location:
Darwin, Northern Territory
Client:
Power and Water Corporation
Contract Value:
$5M
Completion Date:
March 2005
Referees:
Mr Shane Walker, Power Water Corporation

The project workscope included refurbishment and upgrade of the ground and first floor offices within the main workshop at the Ben Hammond Complex.

The office upgrade involved the removal and replacement of the mechanical and electrical services and modification of existing plumbing and drainage. All internal walls, and ceilings were demolished as was the ground floor topping slab.

Problems with the existing stormwater drainage system were rectified through design input by the Sitzler project team. Flat grades onsite necessitated stormwater to be run through a combination of underground drainage and overland flow.

An additional number of elevated work platforms were utilized due to the height of the buildings which translated to significant savings in project time and cost.
