The Frances Bay Substation is a unique building, and is PowerWater's first architecturally designed project with a focus on improving the visual aspects of their infrastructure.

The monolithic walls of the concrete structure provided Sitzler personnel with unique building issues related to maximum height standards. Through investigation, cooperation and communication the project team overcame these issues and completed the project to the clients satisfaction.

The Substation will increase security of supply in Darwin by providing an alternative source of electricity to the Darwin Central Business District and help meet growing demand for electricity and accommodate new projects such as the Waterfront Development.

Project safety was a key performance indicator used by the client to gauge the projects success and from all concerned was highly successful maintaining a 'No Lost Time Injury' record.
