The Parliament House re-cabling works involved the replacement of all outdated communications cabling throughout the 6 storey building with new Category 7 cabling. The process included the installation of new cableways and the conversion of some existing rooms to new communications rooms. To achieve the re-cabling programme alterations to existing specialized architectural finishes were required.
Added to the inherent challenges of working within an occupied building the complex works involved multilevel parliamentary and administration areas with high level access and security restrictions.
The works were progressively carried out in phases throughout the building so specific areas were vacated at an appropriate time and re-occupied on completion to accommodate numerous functions, sittings and ceremonies with each level requiring the relocation of staff, furnishings and equipment planning was crucial in minimising disruption to the occupants.
Sitzlerís flexibility ensured conflicting client expectations were judiciously resolved resulting in the timely and successful completion of the project.
