Sitzler Pty Ltd were awarded a contract to install underground conducting, earthing, light pole footings and directional boring into 332 properties in Rapid Creek with 46,600m of conduit and 5,500m of footpath to be reinstated.
The work consisted of firstly locating existing underground services using Dial Before You Dig information and electronic detection device.
After services were located traffic management procedures were implemented utilizing Sitzlers in house traffic management division. Directional boring was then conducted using a Ditchwitch 920 directional boring machine placed on the property verge, boring under the households existing landscaping, terminating under the existing electric meter location with no disturbance to existing ground surface.
Footpaths were removed; excavation took place, conduits and copper earthing installed and backfilled using cement stabilised sand. Footpaths were replaced and street verges rectified.
Public awareness and safety was essential in carrying out the works and extensive co-ordination ensuring minimal public inconvenience occurred. Steel plates were placed across driveways during the trenching and footpath operations ensuring vehicle access was maintained.
Sitzler professionalism and commitment to detail ensured that on completion of this project street verge rectification improved the aesthetics to the original streetscape.
