An existing storage and hard stand facility required modification and upgrade to achieve an increase in hard stand area and provide increased efficiency from the land area for the new tenant purposes. Existing fencing, pavement and drainage works required alteration, which included extension of pavement areas and new kerbing.
Construction of the modification works was carried out during the wet season and encountered other delays beyond control of Sitzler; the works were still completed within time for the facilities new tenant to occupy.
During the extension of the pavement, bad ground conditions were encountered which were resolved by removal of unsuitable fill material, installation of geo fabric material and import of selected fill material. This solution enabled quick resolution of the critical task activity and flow of program.
Sitzler throughout the works continued to remain in close contact with the contract representative, resolving queries and providing solutions on a free flowing basis throughout the course of the works. This enabled completion of the works to the agreed extended completion date and seamless transition for new tenancy occupation.
