Casuarina Square Shopping Centre, being the largest enclosed Shopping Centre in the Northern Territory maintains a high level of patronage; the Amenities areas are well used and their existing condition was not befitting of a modern retail environment. In total 5 separate amenities were upgraded under this program, each requiring to be completed separately with limits on when certain construction works could be carried out.
Working within an existing operational highly patronized facility had significant challenges in undertaking disruptive construction and refurbishment works. Sitzler undertook each stage with minimal impact to the operations, working both day and night shift periods to ensure noise and dust activities did not affect patrons of the Centre.
Regular communication with the Centre management was required to adequately deliver each stage to ensure their operations continued with minimum impact. This was achieved through having a strong site team and a team of qualified and experienced subcontractors that were understanding of these requirements.
The resultant upgraded amenities provided a highly durable level of finish to the client in their operations; a specific outcome of the refurbishment program. Each stage was achieved to program, which was to the desire of the client as each amenities was highly important to their business operation.
