The complete office fitout of two floors of an existing building for the Department of Planning and Infrastructure, including a mixture of open plan and partitioned offices, kitchen and amenities areas over two levels.
The project involved significant programming and logistical obstacles due to the strict access conditions enforced by the building owner, as well as working in a building with existing tenants.
All building materials and plant were transported to the site by removing glazing from the facade and craning materials in through the aluminum window frames. This was carried out on Darwins busiest street some 20 metres above street level.
The project also incorporated the construction of seven floors of structural steel mechanical platforms in a confined area between two buildings.
