The Seaford Rise Primary School GLA design & construct project was developed as part of the Commonwealth Governments Building Education Revolution scheme. Although the GLA6 building is based on a standard DTEI design, external elements of the building were adapted to current DTEI requirements without compromise to the structural frame or reduction of usable floor area
The main building, of some 800m2, contains 6 general learning areas (GLA), a central activity space, preparation and storage areas and toilets.
One of Sitzlers primary considerations in all facets of the project, was the special needs of working within a primary school campus. Sitzler maintained an excellent working relationship with the Project teams and the School, through continued communication, including regular newsletters and staff project tours with the School and with the design team.
Through careful scheduling and planning, the project was successfully completed in approximately 36 weeks as opposed to 52 weeks as per contract.
