This was a Design & Construct project, developed as part of the Commonwealths Building Education Revolution scheme.

A multipurpose, single storey activity hall of approximately 600mm2, with a ceiling height of 5.5m. It is fitted with sports flooring and equipment and court markings for netball, basketball, badminton and volley ball. Whilst the lower walls are masonry, the upper walls are clad with perforated metal backed with acoustic insulation, ensuring good, giving an acoustic performance free of reverberation. Again evaporative air conditioning has been provided to assist in student comfort levels. This project has been prewired to accept AV & PA systems which the school will be installing following our handover of the project.

Originally scoped to site on land owned by the school but over a heavily trafficked main road in central Whyalla, an initial review and visit to school indicated that it would be far better to fit this building into existing school site rather than over the road. Considerable design works where required to achieve this outcome which has been particularly well received by the school and the local community.
