Construction of a single storey steel framed, predominately brick veneer classroom building for the Mt Compass Primary School as part of DTEI's trade training centre program. This project included external paved and landscaped areas.
The project was awarded through and open tender process with Sitzler being recommended as the preferred builder based on the merit of a detailed and comprehensive submission encompassing quality assurance, OH&S, environmental considerations, appreciation of the project task and client value for money.
External walls are a mixture of face brickwork and metal cladding with thermal and acoustic insulation with fibre cement and plasterboard internal linings on steel frame substructure. Externally new fencing to various areas provides physical security to the site. Externally a curved roof to the main part of the building is the architectural feature of the building with a mixed of suspended tile and curved perforated metal ceilings internally.
Sitzler delivered the project from start to completion in 18 weeks enabling the client to take possession of the site 14 weeks ahead of the contracted completion date. The facility has provided the Mt Compass community with valuable additional teaching resources.
