Demolition of 8 no. houses at Larrakeyah Barracks and 6 no. buildings / structures at RAAF Base Darwin including remediation all within a 4 week construction period.

In order to meet both the project timelines and Defence ESD requirements for recycling, Sitzler arranged for the removal and relocation of 7 no. elevated houses as a whole from Larrakeyah Barracks. This also resulted in cost savings to Defence by not having to demolish and dispose of these houses.

Due to the tight project timeframe, all project commencement requirements and documentation, including project plans and approved ECC's for both sites had to be ready for submission almost immediately following Contract Award. Sitzler was able to achieve this and mobilise to site within 1 week of project commencement.

One of the structures at RAAF Base Darwin was attached to the Spotless Offices, therefore close liaison with their personnel was required for its safe demolition and to minimise any disruption to their operations.

Asbestos was found to be present at both project sites. Sitzler quickly responded to its removal and making it safe without it delaying the project's completion.

Sitzler was able to complete the project within the Client's tight timeframes before the end of the financial year, whilst also including additional works scope.
