Sitzler Pty Ltd were engaged by AFL Northern Territory to carry out the detailed design and construction of the Michael Long Learning and Leadership Centre located TIO Stadium, 70 Abala Road, Marrara NT.

Valued at $13 million, the centre has been designed to build future leaders in sport with training areas, gymnasium and an indoor swimming pool to help with recovery.

The centre includes all one-story buildings except for the gymnasium, which includes a suspended deck for education and office facilities. One transportable building measuring 28 metres in length built specifically for the centre can house up to 24 students and four teachers. Another eight transportable buildings were constructed with 44 additional beds to accommodate visiting sporting teams.

The Michael Long Learning and Learning and Leadership Centre comprised of residential accommodation for children from remote communities and offers first class sporting and educational facilities designed to provide many positive outcomes and produce the leaders of tomorrow.

The Centre includes a function room, lap pool, chilled spa, change rooms, teaching spaces, commercial kitchen and medical facilities.
