Sitzler has been engaged as the Commonwealth’s head contractor to deliver fit-for-purpose facilities and infrastructure at RAAF Base Edinburgh. This will enable the 16th Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery to raise, train and sustain new air defence capability that will be acquired under the LAND19 Phase 7B Short Range Ground Based Air Defence Capability Project. 

During construction some 400 construction jobs will be created with local procurement targeting 98% of construction value and in excess of 5% to Indigenous Enterprises and 8% Indigenous workforce. The project’s value is approximately $210 million.

When completed the project will provide:

• Training facilities that enable extensive use of simulation
• Working accommodation for over 400 personnel
• Secure communications and command control systems
• Storage and maintenance areas for operational equipment and vehicles
• Contemporary on-base living accommodation
• Reliable infrastructure
